Someone Actually Ate One of These!

10. Queso and Margaritas - but only the margaritas with fresh limes, no mix. All the calories already went to the cheese.
9. Gone with the Wind - the BOOK, the MOVIE. Ever since I was around 10 years old and lied to my grandmother and said that it was an appropriate book to read despite what my father said, I have had an obsession. Mind you, I had such guilt I had to tell my Mom over the phone what I had done even though I was at Grandma’s for two weeks. You wish you had a child like me.
8. Barefoot Contessa - BEST COOKBOOKS EVER. There are none better. I am still trying to explain to my long-lost BFFs Ina and Rachel Zoe why they make sense together. I am Gemini. That’s why.
7. List making and crossing off said list. Makes life worth living. And then I get to say how much I have accomplished.
6. Parties - They cure all ills and take people’s minds of things. Even if it is for a couple of ours. And I love being your hostess.
5. Gin & Tonics - Diet tonic with extra limes, please.
4. Junior League - my favorite of all the charities I am involved in.
3. SEC Football - Unless you are playing University of Florida, I am cheering for you.
2. High Heels - The sway of the hips, the added height, they are more feminine, Jimmy Choo, I have mastered standing for hours in them, etc. etc.
1. Champagne - Favorite drink ever. I do not drink Mimosas. Why bother. In fact, we had some tonight. A bottle of champagne will always make you feel better. Last year, over Christmas in Naples, I drank it almost exclusively. Since the floor I was staying on had a bottle open 3/4 of every day. Best vacation ever.
Edited to Add: This is all in good fun. No pretentiousness here.
As of today, ALL MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IS DONE.
Yes, it is. So excited.
I can move on with my life.
I tried this dress on at my local Lilly store, Mint Julep.
However, I tried it on in the Multi Amazly pattern.
I have to tell you the picture does not do it justice. It is HOT! FOR REAL! I am 5′9 and this dress is short on me. Not day appropriate except on the weekend with cute flipflops. I prefer it though with my strappy gold sandals and lots of jewelry. Rachel Zoe it up.
This is not your average Lilly. It is sexy and fun. And I think I am going to have to go back and get it.
Here is my costume. Better late than never. Sorry it has been a rough week and I lost my USB cord.
I think it was super cute and I got loads of compliments. Pink and Green never fails. Even my little dog Lola wore the hat the following night.
My husband’s 95 year old grandmother died tonight. She was the wife of E1. She was the president of her Junior League years ago. She was a beauty queen. She saw grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When I met her she wanted to tell me how she loved the color blue and her outfit matched the car she was still driving. And she had just been to get a manicure and we should go together next time.
When my father was sick and dying she sent him a Get Well Card every month.
She went into hospice two days ago and is now gone.
But what more could you ask for? 95 years and to see it all is amazing.
God rest your soul.
Tomorrow is Halloween! We have house guests coming. One of which is my husband’s college roommate from UF. I love the two guys coming up and just can’t wait to see them. (I wish the single one would marry my sister!)
Anyhoo, for old times sake we are going out to Opera which used to be Eleven50, here in Atlanta. I don’t do the club thing anymore, but going to hear Sasha was always a religious experience back in the day. I had tickets to hear him earlier this year in DC but was still sick with the immune problems and had to cancel.
I have a great costume which I will post next week. It is pink and green, but in a special Halloween way.
Also, making up lots of tasty items to eat. Including tomato soup, pimento cheese and Barefoot Contessa Brownies.
I hope you enjoy the best holiday of the year as much as I plan too!
It has been very hectic here in the Social house. Mostly due to work but had a unexpected house guest for a week amongst other occurrences.
I did make that short trip to Sand Destin. Where I did nothing but run and cooked dinner one night.
We have been out a bit. One was to JLA Night for Fest of Ale at the Botanical Garden. That was a lovely night. Perfect weather and great beer.
We also attended the Dock Party to support Piedmont Park. That event was ok. Also, the first cold night we had really had.
Getting ready for additional house guests for this weekend from Florida. Everyone’s favorite holiday is Friday, so much is going on.
In the mean time, I am on a strict diet of lettuce and liquid to fit into my Halloween costume. But more on that later.
Drinking in Destin … See my Tabblo>
Christian Louboutin is going to be at Jeffrey/Bob Ellis tomorrow for a couple of hours signing shoes.
I won’t be there. One, because I have to work. Two, because the one pair of shoes I bought that are his are the most painful shoes I have ever owned. IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.
I love my Jimmy’s and can wear them for hours.
It has been hectic around here, but one good thing happened. I got an award.
The Preppy Princess has been kind enough to pass on the below award to me!
I am going to share it with six others.
Pretty in Pink Megan - who loves all the same clothes I do.
A. over at Coterie - my blogger BFF.
Southern Sugar - private now, but was one of the first blogs I read.
Blissful Belle - private too, but funny and in JLA with me.
Life In the Cove - Can’t wait for my KJL bracelet and new earrings!
Hello Darling - because I just like her.
