First Impressions Count
I was in Nashville from Thursday till Sunday. I had meetings on Friday and then a birthday party on Saturday to go too.
On Friday, I drove out to Brentwood to deliver submittals and meet with a PM at X Construction company.
I get to the large office park in Brentwood and realize I am going to have to make a run for it in the rain. This said, I was carrying a 30 lb box full of submittals. Come to find out, I had parked at the wrong building and had to run down the center of this giant office park in the pouring rain. Way to make a first impression.
I finally get into the waiting area of X Construction Company, lugging the box and dripping, and begin talking to the receptionist.
Hi, my name is Leslie R. with Y Company. I am here to see J.
Receptionist: Who are you with?
Y Company.
Receptionist: Gives me funny look and walks to the doorway and around the corner. At this point I can’t see her, but I can hear her. “J. THERE IS A LITTLE GIRL OUT FRONT TO SEE YOU!!!!!”
Personally, I did not know receptionists were supposed to yell your arrival. But only in Nashville would someone call me “a little girl”.
I am going to take it as that I can wait to make an appointment for Botox.
