Mother’s Day Surprise

My schedule changes at the drop of a hat and my sister will be out of town on the day of Mother’s Day. So, this week I emailed her about getting together today for a small, family party for my mom. Of course, it was surprise.

My sister got her out of the house and then was a total chatterbox trying to keep her from coming back. I made all the food and picked up the flowers I had ordered from the Buckhead Whole Foods. We loved the rose topiaries they did for the event. (Best place ever for last minute events.)

Menu Included: Our Salmon Dip with crackers, Sherried Tomato Soup (with some changes), Pesto Chicken Salad with Arugula, Strawberry Cheesecake Bars and Champagne.

Needless to say, I saved up all week so that I could eat what I want and be able to drink. (Since I can’t really drink anymore.)

My mother LOVED it and I have to say I was very pleased with myself. Especially since it was all last minute.

That is so cool what you did, and such a nice thing to do for your mother, too.

Funny - for a minute I thought you were talking about a surprise party you were about to throw for your mother, making me think “Boy, I hope she doesn’t read this blog!” I think I’m losing my mind.
