Going out in ATL - You never know who you are going to see.

Last night I met several girls from JLA for a late dinner at Lola Bellini Bar. It was such a see and be seen place. Thankfully, I looked half way decent since I came from work. Our reservation got messed up due to several people canceling at the last minute. While we waited for our table and talked I could not help but people watch.

It has been awhile since I have been out in Buckhead and this place was packed. The bar was crammed with people and every table was taken at almost 9 pm on a Wednesday night. And in times like these I think that is saying something. I was scoping out the scene of afterwork drunks, couples, singles, the whole bit, while talking to my friend. We were discussing some of the slutty looking girls in the place and the guys trying to pick them up. I had a clear view of the door and was watching who entered the bar too. Two girls started to come thru the double doors and I pointed to my friend how skanky they looked. Mind you I could not see one face. Both were dressed in black with leather jackets and really black short skirts. The one that I could not see her face had on thigh high black boots on that laced up the back. My first thought was “What 80’s music video did these two roll out of?” And then I saw the girl’s face. Shit!!! I know her. And she saw me.

Hey Anonymous Aquaintance! I said. She had raccoon eyes and wanted to know if I was here with the Little League. No, I am here with the Junior League, I said. Thankfully, that ended quickly.

We ended up having to leave and go to a different restaurant since a table never became available. That is fine because the scene was just getting to our whole group and girls at the desk were total bitches.

The boots are just burned in my brain though.

Yeah, but don’t blame the boots. Any fashion choices in the wrong hands can be disastrous! Thigh boots can work really well with the right style choices. For example, Megan Fox pulled it off beautifully here.

And the classy version of the lace-up boots can be seen here

Ugh, Kirk. Those lace up boots are not classy…
And the ones Megan Fox has on are okay…but in general she toes the line of classy vs. trashy.

Oh, Lola. People at my work are obsessed with it. I have been a few times and have been witness to the antics of Buckhead Suits with loosened ties. It’s a little much for me to handle on some nights, but they do have a great tasting grapefruit vodka & tonic.

  5. Hope you had a fun night anyway- sounds kind of like Cafe milano in DC on a bad night- so Gauche sometimes-

Anyway the Little League comment- I mean what is that?

Wha? You mean you don’t wear thigh high, lace up boots?

Too bad about the reservation. And it looks like a lovely place on the website, too. I hope the rest of the night went better!
