Books to Love - Forced to be Family
I was in a discussion last night at an event about family and the tribulations that come with it. My immediate family, I would consider to be close. But there are bumps in the road with every family, immediate or extended, and we all have our fair share. And I could share some stories!
We all need some advice sometimes.

Oh wow - thanks for posting this one!!!
Hmmm… if I was tacky I would give this as a Christmas gift, along with Emily Post’s Etiquette, to be my soon to be mother in law. She could definitely use a few lessons from both.
my family is crazy, i hardly talk to them
Mine is, too. But they can’t help it, so I talk to ‘em all the time
They drive me crazy but I love the lot of ‘em anyway. Especially my kitty (yep, the family pets are nuts, too - not in a Sandra Lee kind of way, but a less obnoxious one).
I have crazy stories. Anyone who knows about the infamous Christmas, knows what I am talking about. Honestly, I am sick of some of it and am not going to be pushed around anymore by certain family members. Really, it is not my job or mission in life to make them happy or to please them.
I bought this book and started reading it last night. It is very interesting. It is so sad that family will treat each other worse than they do acquaintances or friends.
Family, what are you going to do?!? You can pick your friends but not your family. My immediate family is too awesome for words but we all have those wack job family members. All of us!
I particularly like Belle’s comment on this matter! As much as I hate my family, I still love them.
So glad you made it to and liked both! Incredible places both of em- next time try Central- Michele Richards new Bistro in the theater district and Belga on Capitol Hill-
My 2 current faves-
I need your book- badly….. stocking stuffers all around. I ll take a case
