Events - Cocktails and Cookbooks
My friend Julie just moved back to Atlanta from New York City. I dragged her away from her 12 hour days at her new firm for a little fun tonight at the JLA event Cocktails and Cookbooks. It was held at the Fresh Market on Peachtree Road. For your ticket price, you got a wine tasting with many, many wines and dessert beverages to chose from. Plus, appetizers such as crab cakes, bruschetta, cheese tasting, shrimp cocktail and beef. You also got to choose from a selection of Junior League cookbooks from around the country.
The food was classic, was good. The wine was OK. I choose the Gracious Gator Cooks book from Gainesville, FL and Julie got True Grits from Atlanta. The following pictures do not due the event justice. It was really nice and I was told it was sold out. The wine was running out. There was a picture of us, but I look like crap. And I included Julie’s fabulous new bag.

The event looked like fun! We just got a fresh market here six months ago. I love it, before we only had the big box places like Kroger, Meijer, Wild Oats etc. Btw, Julie’s new bag is fabulous!
Fun. Cute bag. I love Fresh Market, there is one opening up sort of close to me. I like the atmosphere. It’s a nice change from WF.
Sounds like fun. I love Junior League cooks… maybe I’m biased but I love the recipes and stories in True Grit. My mom was in both the Augusta and Atlanta Leagues and Tee Time at the Masters, the Augusta cookbook, is one of her staples.
Looks like fun! I always run to Fresh Market for a quick lunch.
