The Mystery of the Missing Bonanno’s

I posted awhile back about several purchases I had made that I was still waiting on. The CK Bradley package eventually got cleared up. They had to call their bank to verify that I had paid for the merchandise that was now on sale and they did overnight it, so no harm no fowl. The Pennington skirt finally showed. Cute. Not to much drama.

OH! Nancy! Where are your Bonanno’s! On to the saga.

I checked my bank account transactions a week ago to get the exact date of when I ordered the two pairs of shoes in question. Well, they were late. But I wanted to give them time to get here without raising a stink. As I worked intently on Tuesday an email came across the board from my aunt wanting to know if I had received them. I checked the calendar again. Now they are REALLY late. So I made the call. I got all the UPS info from the lovely Vivian. “That’s odd” I said to myself. They should have already arrived if they were sent a week ago Monday. Low and behold, they had already arrived. And they were signed for at the downstairs concierge last Wednesday. Ok. The bigger issue is that this was the SECOND PACKAGE OF THE DAY THAT I WAS MISSING. The other was for work, so the smile of “I am trying to be nice, but…,” was already plastered on my face.

Here we go, Marilyn (Mom) is now involved. And let me tell you, my mom is a sweet Southern lady. But after you have worked in construction for 25+ years and you recently lost your husband, you don’t take shit from anyone. So she is downstairs next. The concierge is denying he signed for it because it is not in the sign in book. Not an excuse! It was your first day, you already worked for the concierge company and know the drill. How does the UPS guy suddenly come up with your name? Anyway, I digress. The saga has gone on for three days and finally the building management has agreed to pay for the missing shoes. We are just going to go with “stolen”. The lovely Vivian faxed over the missing invoices which were promptly turned over for payment.

So, technically, the case of the Missing Bonannos is not solved. But if I see someone walking around in the Palm Beach Classic style in UF colors I will ask to see their size. The green and white ones too.

What a nightmare! I hate when things go “missing”!

  2. Crazy! As they should pay for it! I hope you do enjoy them when you finally get them!

I have a surprisingly similar story about a J. Crew belt a couple of years ago. There were only two girls that worked at the concierge for my building. I never caught either of them with my belt but I still swear one of them has it. J. Crew was a nightmare about a refund but finally caved a little and gave me another belt, but not the color I wanted because they were sold out. So sorry to hear that about your cute sandals. I’m ready and willing if you’d like me to come up there and do some detective work.
